What Perplexity changed

• Added "Artifacts" for viewing and interacting with generated content.
• Added "Projects" to help users group related searches and files.
• Added a "Customize" option for personalized settings.
• Added a "Sessions" sidebar to track recent activity.
• Replaced the Cookie Policy landing page with a new functional dashboard interface.

Perplexity is moving from a simple search box to a workspace. These new features help users organize their work and see results in a dedicated side-by-side view.

• Removed the statement that users consent just by continuing to use the site.
• Added a specific option for users to choose whether to allow tracking for ad performance and service improvements.
• Clarified that cookies are used for the "correct functioning" of the website.
• Rephrased the promise not to sell third-party ads to be more direct.

Perplexity is moving from a "consent by use" model to a more explicit choice model. This suggests they are tightening their privacy compliance and giving users more control over how their data is tracked for marketing.

• Added a new "Computer" section to the main navigation.
• Introduced "Tasks" and "Workflows" to help users manage ongoing projects.
• Added "Artifacts" and "Connectors" to organize files and link other tools.
• Updated the main call to action to focus on getting work done "around the clock."
• Added a "Search Computer" mode alongside the standard search.

The product is moving from just answering questions to actually doing work. This new feature suggests a shift toward AI agents that can handle projects and deliverables on their own.
