Summary: GitHub Copilot launches a new free pricing tier

Why It Matters: The industry leader is now offering its AI coding tools for free to individual developers. This lowers the barrier to entry and makes it harder for smaller competitors to win over new users based on price alone.

What Changed:

• Added a "Free" plan for individuals that includes 50 chat requests and 2,000 code completions per month.
• Introduced a "Pro+" plan at $39/month for advanced users needing more AI model access and "Spark" features.
• Updated the homepage to focus entirely on Copilot features, including "Agent mode" and multi-model support (GPT-4.5, Claude, Gemini).
• Added a detailed FAQ section explaining how the AI generates code and how data is handled.
• Expanded the list of supported platforms to include Xcode, Raycast, and various IDEs.
